Hiring the Hall at The Eddington
Our spacious light and welcoming space is available to hire both day and evening, 7 days a week. The hall is an adaptable space for meetings, talks, gatherings and sharing food.
Please note that the hall is not available 9am-3pm Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays when we run our Café and Larder.
All the money we earn from room hire directly supports the running of Waste into Wellbeing.
We especially welcome hirers who align with our objectives and values regarding sustainability, community cohesion and reducing climate change and food waste.
The hall can be hired without catering, or we can provide tea, coffee and cakes, or soup, making imaginative use of surplus food (please see prices below). We can also provide light meals depending on volunteer availability, please enquire for costs.

Hall Facilities:
- Capacity to seat up to 60 people depending on the nature of the event and layout
- Small tables you can be configured to meet your needs
- Wi-Fi throughout the building
- Interactive screen and audio-visual system
- Disabled accessible entry and facilities
- Access to hot water and mugs (charged at an extra £10 per booking)
- Heating provided by air source heat pump
- Convenient location in Kendal town centre
- There is no parking on-site however there is a drop-off area. Parking is available nearby in Dowker Lane and Peppercorn car parks (charges apply 8am to 6pm daily).
Please note that we are unfortunately, unable to allow access to our kitchen on health and safety grounds.
Minimum Donations for Events at The Eddington
Please note that we accept bookings for catered events only in the Eddington Hall.

1 session of 3 hours – morning, afternoon or evening £70
2 sessions (discounted rate) £120
3 sessions (discounted rate) £170
*Each additional hour added to a session £25

Light refreshments – Hot drink & fruit squash with biscuits £3.00
Hot drink & fruit squash with cake £4.00
Light refreshments as above + Soup & bread £8.00
